Job Description

Grand Canyon University is seeking a new Operations Support Specialist to support our Strategic Employer Initiatives team. This position is responsible to support all operational processes which include retrieval of information within the various databases and preparation of standardized reports which shows trends/gaps against agreed upon metrics and any other administrative duties which provide information about the performance of the unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to pull standardized reports from appropriate system such as Symplicity, CRM, XRM, other university systems
  • Assess and interpret user/departmental needs and requirements, identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems and confirms design compliance for the application.  Acts as liaison between users and technical staff regarding technical requirements, and user needs.
  • Compile and analyze data that produces matrixes and reports.
  • Provide software application training for internal stakeholders, support centers and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with appropriate IT systems administrator/team to develop standard reports needed for department
  • Identify, recommend and implement process improvements to enhance data quality reports/information
  • Analyze data by reviewing and evaluating system and project work to support process improvement.
  • Develop basic queries, reports, dashboards and processes to continuously monitor data quality and integrity.
  • Document and maintain department procedures, protocols and processes; create flowcharts and any other tools needed to ensure all department personnel have information readily available.
  • Remain current with technology to ensure processes, data, etc., are automated in the most efficient manner.
  • Responsible for providing communication and training to department/s on the updates and changes to the system.
  • Uses tracking mechanisms to ensure projects are progressing in a timely manner and meets all deadlines
  • Tracks on-going projects and provide project updates to leadership as required
  • Adhere to all federal, state and company compliance requirements, policies, operating procedures and controls

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years’ related work experience involving reviewing and reconciling data from a structured database
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience and education may be substituted upon supervisor’s approval.
  • Ability to analyze data, recognize trends, patterns, inconsistencies and present this data in understandable format to management
  • Ability to understand business basics and operational business processes
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to learn how to write report queries to extract data from various databases
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to escalating priorities, customer requests, and manage and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to research current concepts and incorporate into daily operational practices
  • Knowledgeable about how databases operate and an understanding of database structure.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
